Won from one of the largest dimensional stone quarries in the British
Isles, Stanton Moor is becoming
one of the most popular dimensional building stones. With a deep-buff
base colour, Stanton Moor has
a range from browns, through buff to the distinctive pink veins.
This variety keeps large expanses of
stone fresh and colourful.
The track record of Stanton Moor is enviable with large-scale projects
covering all categories. Used in pitched-face
form it has been used widely throughout the UK, with the majority
going in to housing.
Smooth, or sawn, texture
gives the stone the best opportunity to show off. The pinks and
browns shine through making the use of complimentary stones
and other materials easy and flattering. Large scale commercial projects
and prestigious
housing projects all benefit from the physical strength and aesthetic
appeal of Stanton Moor. Let your imagination
wander free!
Specification
guide Stanton Moor is a Millstone Grit. The stone is extracted from
the Dale View Quarry near Matlock, Derbyshire.
It is fine to medium grained with beds of consistent buff and
more variable pinks and golds. Since the quarry
re-opened in 1983 demand for this durable sandstone has grown.
Today it is one of the largest dimensional
stone quarries in the country.
These figures should only be used as indications of the future
